Well, what a terrific day! The weather was perfect, the craic fierce and all was played in the very best of spirits - we'll just not dwell on the singing, shall we?
First of all, very well done to our generous virgin Captains, Martin Leslie and Claire Vittery who provided a vast array of food and drink from their respective Nations - who needed breakfast with Tunnock cakes and Yorkshire puds on offer?
It was a closely fought contest and congratulations go to Sue (71), Dee (74), Martin H (69) and Val (73) for the best scores for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales respectively.
The prediction, as to the order of the result, was split between John Poole and Michael Wall, who received a hefty fine from The Fine Pair, Martin L. and BobR., for not putting his own team in first place - naughty boy!
Overall, the Four Nations trophy was won, once again, by Wales with 751 points. England scored 711, closely followed by Ireland on 708 and Scotland with 638.
Finally, thanks go to Hugh Gribbin, who was one of the originators of this fantastic competition, which has been running at the Club for 31 years now. Also, to every one of you who supported the day, in your fine array of National fashion, and made it such a success.
